Early childhood education up to 2 years


Colégio Castelo develops a specific curriculum aimed at assisting 2-year-old children (completed by March 31), which integrates all situations related to caring for learning situations. We start from the assumption that children need to be cared for and educated in an environment of affection and stimuli, in which the interaction of the educator as a mediator of learning situations is fundamental.

Caring for educating implies a systematic investment of actions that contemplate health, food, rest and, feeling cared for, the child learns to take care of himself, to take care of others and to trust people. This feeling provides their physical and emotional well-being in a collective environment that represents the beginning of their social insertion.

At Colégio Castelo, taking care of educating means following the child's trajectory in the sense of inscribing them in the traditions of our culture, promoting situations of cognitive, physical, affective, aesthetic and ethical learning aimed at their social insertion. Such activities are always meaningful and contextualized, always developed based on the curricular axes adopted by us: identity and autonomy, oral language and communication situations, playful and motor challenges and knowledge of the world.

No eixo de identidade e autonomia encontram-se todas as situações que favorecem a construção da autoestima da criança. Com este objetivo, buscamos sempre olhar para aquilo que ela já é capaz de fazer, atribuindo-lhe a responsabilidade possível para a realização de tarefas, como por exemplo dirigir-se até sua sala sem a presença da mamãe, supervisionada por um de nossos profissionais.

Encontram-se também neste eixo, as situações que favorecem a criação de um ambiente conhecido e familiar, bem como o estabelecimento de um ambiente sócio moral de qualidade, o respeito às diferenças e o reconhecimento das próprias possibilidades. Para tanto, criamos situações que viabilizam a construção do vínculo afetivo e de um ambiente de cumplicidade no grupo.

No eixo de desafios lúdicos e motores são propostas situações que favorecem a conquista de novas habilidades motoras e de momentos dedicados à brincadeira.

No eixo de conhecimento de mundo são privilegiadas todas as situações que proporcionem o contato das crianças com as características do nosso ambiente físico. Da mesma forma atuamos com as atividades de artes plásticas em suas diferentes modalidades (desenho, modelagem e pintura). E neste eixo, ainda, que promovemos o contato da criança com tudo o que é relevante como objeto da cultura.


In this way, the work axes act as guiding educational action and complement each other. By treating each of them in isolation, we guarantee the solidity of the work, while visualizing, with greater clarity, the intersection points of each one of them.

The feeling of belonging to a group, of being an important and dear person, and the perception of the ability to learn are fundamental aspects of the training of our little students. In this sense, the first stage of school life aims to form close bonds with teachers and staff and with all the learning situations experienced.

In a climate of trust and affection, children acquire security in their own expressive, cognitive, motor, affective and social capacity in relation to others and knowledge and have numerous opportunities to develop their creativity and appreciation for knowledge and culture.

In this first stage, being autonomous is related to the ability to assume small responsibilities considering the personal and other needs, within rules and limits valued for a healthy coexistence.
